Hanging Rock Show and Shine
The day was fine but cold, and fortunately I did not lose anyone in the convoy on the way to Hanging Rock! This outing had a great turn-out with 30 people attending and no ‘hard luck’ stories…all the cars ran as they should. The BBQ and shelter was great, and we had the area to ourselves. I would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest members Ranjini and Joseph, with their very nice Morris Major Elite, who came on the outing with us; one of many I hope. It was great to see Frank and Dot Evans who made the trip down from Stanhope for the day, great to see you both; and Shane’s grandson who I suspect is fast becoming the club mascot with a good outings attendance record and this outing sporting a Morris emblem on his top.
Now for the competition judging:
Stephen Whitworth and I did the judging and for those of you that might be wondering, I did not judge my own car. Bessie was judged by Andrew Read to keep everything above board and transparent. The new judging system worked very well and I believe it made it fair for all competitors. When the judges compared notes after the judging there were only minimal points differences for some cars and for other cars, scores were identical. The new judging criteria worked well; well done Stephen for developing the new criteria as it made the comp fair for all who entered.
As always, I would like to thank everyone who came on this outing, but special thanks needs to go to all who helped with the catering, cooking, and all the behind the scenes work. Without you all, this event would not have been the success it was.
