Yarragon Outing, 24th September 2022

September 24, 2022

An outing to Yarragon.

Yarragon village market is on Saturday 24th September. The Yarragon vintage market, over the road, is open almost every day and always weekends.

The Village market is a community produce market, featuring crafts, arts and food. Such food.

This is a trip with a difference and I think one of the few times the club has ventured to the west, rather than the east.

Meet at Officer outbound service centre on the Princes freeway at 9:00am, departing 9:30am. Drive takes a bit over an hour and will be via country roads, through numerous small towns along the way. Take some notice because there will be a quiz. Arrival time will be between 10:30 and 11am, so that gives people some time to browse the market.

Lunch will be at the Yarragon Hotel, an excellent place for a meal with a very nice beer garden, should the weather be suitable for outside dining.

After lunch, cross the railway line and head to the Yarragon Vintage Market. This is a big bric-a-brac market with goods to suit almost any taste, from old car memorabilia to games and everything in between.

If you wish to stay Saturday night before heading back home the next day, there is a choice of motels and hotels at Yarragon and the local area. Warragul is the closest larger town.

If you intend touring a little, there is much to see, including the Holden museum in Trafalgar, one of the best museums of its type in Australia.

Please get back to us by the end of August, so we have some numbers to book the table at the pub.
